I am not sure if anyone is even still looking at this blog but I just wanted to say HI to everyone! I was so busy last year with working full time for the 2010 Census, keeping up the kids, and spending any free moment that we had at Lagoon riding rides and at the water park. I have started again this school year subbing and am really enjoying it! I can't believe this is my 5th school year. I even remember the first class that I went into and I was terrified and they were only 2nd graders. Now I sub in the Junior and Senior High Schools. Last September I decided that I had reached my biggest weight and decided I need to do something about it. So, I had heard from a friend about the HCG diet. I was really determined to do something about me weight and knew that I could see instant results. So having done the diet 2 times I have lost a total of 35lbs. I feel great but would like to lose 15 more to be at my High School weight.
Jessa is enjoying the 4th grade and is doing great. She has enjoyed spending time with her best friend Courtney.
Zach is now in 7th grade and is on student government. He is trying his best to keep up with all the work.

It seems like this new school year has gotten away from me. I haven't been able to post at all on my blog. I have been scrapbooking my pictures more this year. We have been busy with Zach in 6th grade now and Jessa in 3rds grade. We enjoyed our Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays and the kids were spoiled! Bryce is still at his job with the Federal Reserve Bank here in SLC and seems to be enjoying the change of living in Utah. I am in my second school year with the Davis County School District and completely enjoying subbing every day in new classrooms from Elementary to JH and even HS classes. Jessa has started playing soccer this season and seems to be enjoying herself. She is doing great in school and loves to socialize with her friends. She loves to listen to music, have friends over and text her friends on her new phone. Zach is playing the violin at school this year and next year hopes to take up the trumpet. He has had a great year in school with good grades, 2nd place in his division in the Science Fair and then being nominated from his school to be a 7th grade student body officer at West Point JH next year! I am so proud of Zach and all that he has accomplished. We have a fun and busy spring and summer ahead of us. Lagoon has opened here this weekend and the kids just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to go on the rides. I am praying for a job this summer in hopes to keep helping our family out financially. I can't believe it will be 2 years in July since we have moved back to Utah. I am happy to say that we are well adjusted here and that we are doing good!

In July my parents came to Utah for the 4th of July holiday and Stacy's newest addition Cameron Brady Newman's blessing. My sister Melissa also came to visit with her kids. I thought it would be a great idea to get some pictures of all of us with my parents. I really don't remember the last time we were able to get pictures with all of us. It was really nice to be able to spend time with my family!

Ward Campout

Our ward had a camp out the last weekend before school started. Bryce had to work but I thought it would be a great thing to do with the kids and I. When we got up to Perception Park in the Ogden canyon the kids enjoyed playing in the water. I had forgotten to pack swim suits so they both just went in their street clothes. (Oh what fun it is to be a kid!!) Then we found Brother Hales in our ward was taking kids tubbing down the river. He was kind enough to allow Zach and Jessa the fun experience of getting to go tubbing down the river two times. We also enjoyed eating dinner with the ward, playing card games with some friends before going to bed, and eating a delicious breakfast. Jessa also enjoyed being able to sleep in a nice camper with her new friend Hadlee. I think we will continue the tradition in the future to attend the ward camp out.

Back To School

I was able to get a picture of Zach and Jessa at the school looking at the lists to see what teacher they would have for the year. The were both so excited to get good teachers!

Zach and Jessa started school on Monday August 24th. Zach is now in the 6th grade and at the top of the school. Jessa is now in 3rd grade and is enjoying being in Elementary. This year the school decided to have a back to school night the morning of the first day of school.

I was able to get a few pictures of Jessa in her new classroom. She was excited with the people she was going to be sitting next to.

Here is Zach in his classroom. I am so glad that he is still willing to allow me to take pictures of him. He is really excited about a new school year.

Lagoon Passes!

I decided that it would be a great idea to treat our family to Lagoon Passes for the summer. Here is Zach, Bryce and Jessa posing with their passes. Temple Square

While Jen, Greg, Nicholas, William and Haylie were visiting us we went to Temple Square. We had a nice time looking at the temple, going into the visitor centers and seeing the Conference Center. We all had a great time together. I wish that they lived here so that we could do things like this more often. After visiting Temple Square we went to dinner at the Spaghetti Factory.

While we were camping Bryce, Zach and Jessa went fishing. Zach had a great time getting to fish for the first time ever. Bryce enjoyed fishing and was lucky enough to catch a fish! He caught the fish in the lake right next to our campsite.

Camping Memorial Weekend

We had an enjoyable memorial weekend camping at South Fork (Utah) with my sister Melissa, Lauri and my brother C.J. It is so great that all of the cousins are close in age and get along great. Zach got to try fishing for the first time while we were camping. He enjoyed it so much that all he wanted to do was go fishing. I can't wait until we can all get together again.

I have been so busy that I haven't been able to post any pictures. I have also been busy with deciding if I am going to work this summer or take time for me and the kids. So far I have decided to take some time for myself and the kids. We have bought Lagoon passes and will be spending a whole lot of time there. Also, we will get to enjoy having my parents and sister Melissa and her family visit in July. Then at the end of July we will be taking a vacation home to beautiful Washington! I am excited to finally enjoy my first summer off for the first time in about 4 years. I hope to be able to post all of the fun things we have been doing in last couple of months. ( Camping with my sisters and best friend ever Jen , Zoo visits, my field trip to Kennecott copper mines with the class I was subbing for, time spent at Temple Square with Jen and her family, and Zach learning to fish and absolutely loving every minute of it!) Keep looking back for more to come. Love and miss you all!

Ravings of a Proud Aunt

My sister, Stacy gave birth to a beautiful baby boy on April 9th at 7:15pm. He was 6lbs 11oz and they named him Cameron Brady Newman. I was at her house with Jackson and Lucy when the call came that he had finally arrived. He is so adorable! My favorite picture of him was when the nurse brought him to Stacy looking like a little bean wrapped tightly in his blanket.

Easter Eggs

The kids had a great time dying Easter Eggs with Jackson and Lucy. Jackson loved to just put the eggs in and pick it out with his hands. Needless to say by the time we were done with dying eggs his hands were a pretty green color. He also enjoyed trying to put more than one egg in the cup to dye at the same time. Jessa enjoyed helping Lucy dye some eggs too. I am so glad that we are able to share these experiences the Zach and Jessa's cousins. Jessa especially loved dying the eggs a pretty pink color.

Utah's Hogle Zoo

During our Spring Break this week we went to the Zoo. We went with my sister Stacy and her two kids, Jackson and Lucy. The kids and I had a great time being able to see the elephants, monkeys, giraffes, zebras, penguins, and the turtles. It was a really nice sunny day to go to the zoo. We all had a great time!

This giraffe was standing all alone near the edge of the exhibit. It was like he was posing for this picture. It stood still and just started right at us. The giraffe's are so amazing!

Clearfield Aquatic Center with Cousins!

While my sister, Melissa and her girls were here visiting during Spring Break we met them at the Clearfield Aquatic Center. They all had a great time. Lucy didn't have an adult to go in with her but Makayla took her in to play. Lucy didn't want to get out of the pool. She really does love playing in the water. Everyone enjoyed taking a dip in the pool and getting to spend time with each other. We hope that they come back again soon to visit!

Children's Museum

We all had a great time at the Children's Museum with the cousins and sisters. At the end of our visit all of the kids posed for one last picture. The kids in the picture from left to right are: Zach, Taylor, Jessa, Calista, Makayla, Lucy and Jackson.

Birthday Party

After bouncing we went into the party room and had doughnuts and ice cream cups. Lucy had a great time licking and playing with the ice cream cup.

We went to Bouncin' off the walls in Sandy, Utah. We got invited because it was my niece Kiera's and nephew Matthew's birthday party. It was a lot of fun watching the kids play on the bouncy toys. They got to play in the room and then we went into another room for crispy cream doughnuts. While we were there my brother C.J. hyper extended is arm going down the big slide. Then my brother in law Nick decided to go on the bouncy toys and ended up cracking a small bone in his foot, tore ligaments and a lot of bruising. I think next time the adult will stay off of the kid toys.

There was also a basketball tug of war bouncy thing. Lucy loved playing in it because she got to pick up the ball and throw it.

This is where the majority of the kids ended up playing on the giant slide. Here is Haylie and Jessa getting ready to go up the slide. I went down the slide once while I was there and it was pretty steep.

Swimming Wish

Last Saturday Zachary handed me this note that read:
This Hereby States that we must go swimming at the Roy High School. Signatures Zachary Jessa
Please take us swimming. "We mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor." -Last line in the Declaration of Independence.
Zachary is well know for being very studious and loves school. He has been studying about the Declaration of Independence at school.
It made me smile when he gave me this note. I told him to get online to find out the best place to go swimming. We decided to go to the Clearfield Aquatic Center. It was a lot of fun for the kids. At the Aquatic Center there is a lazy river, slides and a play area for little ones. Zach was so excited that he was granted his request!

We brought Jessa's friend Courtney with us to the Clearfield Aquatic Center.

At the Clearfield Aquatic Center they have the swimmers get out of the pool every hour so that it can be cleaned. It only takes about 5 minutes to do this. Then a bell rings and everyone jumps back in to play.

Best Friends

Christmas

Zach got a Trac phone for Christmas. He is really growing up so fast.

Jessa loves to hide behind things so she is not captured in the pictures.

Jessa got a High School Musical bean bag for Christmas. As soon as she saw it she said, "I am going to open up all of my presents sitting on it. :)

I had Zach and Jessa put on the Santa hats before they got to come all the way downstairs to open up their presents. Jessa is holding her favorite blanket that my Grandma Swenson made for her.

Zach had a great time making a paper Christmas tree. He also wrote a Christmas poem that was cover in a thin sheet of gold and put into a frame. Jessa made a place mat for Santa's cookies. I enjoyed putting up a lot of my favorite Christmas decorations.

We went to the mall to shop, went to movies, ate lots of good food and spent a lot of time with family. We are glad that we are able to be close to be close to Aunt's, Uncle's and cousins.

Christmas Morning

We had a great Christmas morning. Zach slept in until 8am and I actually had to wake Jessa up to open presents. The both had a lot of fun gathering presents for each other and then watching them open the presents. I am so grateful at this time of year to be able to remember our Savior and all that he has done for me.

Last Sunday (Nov.23rd) I had the opportunity to go and see one of my best friends Yvonne. She came to visit some of her family members in Utah for Thanksgiving. She had driven 30 hours with her family from Tennessee. It was so great to be able to see her after many years. I also got to meet her 6 beautiful children too. Yvonne and I have been friends for about 14 years now. We met when I went to Utah and decide to live in Provo before I attended BYU. I was looking for a job and had decided to apply at Albertson's. It was one of the best things I could have ever done. Yvonne was also working at Albertson's and it was there that we became great friends. We had such a great time doing things together. I don't think I could have gotten through that first year at BYU without her. Thanks for being such a wonderful friend forever Yvonne. I sure do miss you. I hope that we can see each other again real soon. LOVE YA!

Riverton Rodeo

Here are some more pictures from our 2 week vacation in Utah this past summer. My sister Lauri lives in Riverton Utah and every year they put on a rodeo. She invited us to go with her family for James's birthday. Zach and Jessa had never been to a rodeo before. They both had a great time see all the action going on and being with their cousins. I bought Zach cowboy hat while we were there too. I hope to be able to make this a family tradition and go to the rodeo every year.

While we are in Utah it is one thing that Bryce enjoys being able to do. We went to the Oakridge Barbershop to get his and Zach's haircut. Bryce has been going to Gary since he was little. It is so special to me since Gary was the one that actually cut Zach's hair for the first time when he was 2 years old.

Summer Picnic for Stacy's B-day

Here is an awesome picture of my favorite animal. There were three of them and on was a small baby turtle. Mine and Zach's favorite animals at the zoo were the turtles.

Jessa's Baptism Day Oct. 11th

Jessa was finally getting baptized. We are so very proud of her decision to become a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. She was so excited to be able to wear her beautiful baptism dress that her Grandma Jackie bought for her. We were so blessed to have so many of our family members able to attend this special day with Jessa.

Jessica is finally 8 years old. We had a fun party with all of her
Aunts, Uncles and cousins over at our house.

Of course you can tell by the color of the pink presents that
all of these gifts were for Jessa.

Jessa really loves Hannah Montana. Her Aunt Candi got
her a pair of Hannah Montana pants and a shirt.

She also got a Hannah Montana doll that sings from her
Aunt Sara. I think she is set for a while with the Hannah Montana stuff.

The Circus

We went to the circus for the first time ever. We went with Grandma Jackie,
Aunt Candi, Emily, and Bradley. It was a perfect time to go since my best friend ever
Jen and her boys Nick and William were in town visiting. We had so much fun seeing the tigers, elephants, tight rope walkers, and the many motorcycles in the cage.

On Zachary's birthday we went to Jungle Jim's. At Jungle Jim's we rode on many different rides like the scrambler, swings, bumper cars and merry-go-round. Zach had a great time also using the coins to play games and get tickets to buy things. It was such fun time we think we might go back for Jessa's birthday in October.
